“Europe’s being run by cowards”
Europe, your family name is appeasement.
…so says the chief executive of German media group Axel Springer, Mathias Doepfner (read it!):
Today we are faced with a particularly grotesque form of appeasement. How is Germany reacting to the escalating violence by Islamic fundamentalists in The Netherlands, Britain and elsewhere in Europe? By suggesting - wait for it - that the proper response to such barbarism is to initiate a Muslim holiday in Germany.
WTF? You’ve gotta be kidding me!
I wish I were joking, but I am not. A substantial fraction of Germany’s Government - and, if polls are to be believed, the German people — actually believe that creating an official state Muslim holiday will somehow spare us from the wrath of fanatical Islamists.
One cannot help but recall Britain’s Neville Chamberlain on his return from Munich, waving that laughable treaty signed by Hitler, and declaring the advent of peace in our time.
Unbelievable. Wait, maybe it’s not so unbelievable. They do like honoring “heroes,” apparently. Yeccchh.
But I digress. Doepfner continues:
What atrocity must occur before the European public and its political leadership understands what is really happening in the world? There is a sort of crusade under way; an especially perfidious campaign consisting of systematic attacks by Islamists, focused on civilians, that is directed against our free, open Western societies, and that is intent on their utter destruction.
Unfortunately, I shudder to think what atrocity must occur, because 9/11, 3/11, 7/7, and let’s not forget Beslan–hell, the nearly 3000 acts of Islamofascist terrorism that have happened just since 9/11–have had no apparent effect in waking up these dhimmis.
You have to wonder what the hell is going on in their pointy little heads. Do they hate democracy and just say “let’s let the fascists fix it for us;” or do they realize the threat, and are they afraid of what will happen if they don’t submit to Islamists? Or are they really that mind-bogglingly naive (or stupid)?
What IS it going to take? I’m tired of these appeasers’ implicit cooperation with those who want us all dead-or-else. That includes American appeasers–or especially American appeasers, for that matter, but Europe is MUCH closer to submission at this point…and they’re welcoming their conquerors with open arms.
