Think about this - UPDATED (again) - Michael Graham & Islam
If the Boy Scouts of America had 1,000 scout troops, and 10 of them practiced suicide bombings, then the BSA would be considered a terrorist organization. If the BSA refused to kick out those 10 troops, that would make the case even stronger. If people defending terror repeatedly turned to the Boy Scout handbook and found language that justified and defended murder — and the scoutmasters in charge simply said “Could be” — the Boy Scouts would have driven out of America long ago.
Absolutely. Hmmm, can anyone think of what this analogy might be referring to?

Via Myopic Zeal & NYC Right — The author of the above piece, Michael Graham, was suspended without pay by ABC/Disney for his on-air remarks about Islam on his talk show. Now CAIR is demanding that he be fired!
Graham has been harshly criticized by CAIR for public comments linking the current theology and structure of Islam to the repeated acts of terror in its name. CAIR sent mass e-mails to its members urging them to contact ABC and demand the company to punish Graham for his remarks.
The statements at the heart of the controversy reflect Graham’s opinion that, as he puts it, “Because of the mix of Islamic theology that — rightly or wrongly — is interpreted to promote violence, added to an organizational structure that allows violent radicals to operate openly in Islam’s name with impunity, Islam has, sadly, become a terrorist organization. It pains me to say it. But the good news is it doesn’t have to stay this way, if the vast majority of Muslims who don’t support terror will step forward and re-claim their religion.”
SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on them! Dhimmitude exemplified! What are they afraid of? Terrorists in CAIR?

1. “All suicide bombers are muslims”.
In fact, most suicide bombings aren’t. Most are by the Tamil Tiger Rebels, a secular group (but Hindu in origin).
2. That before this week’s fatwa against terrorism, the Islamic world and its leaders have been silent on the issue of condemning terrorism. I have found countless examples since 9/11 of explicit condemnations by Islamic leaders and groups.
For a broadcaster to be repeating these falsehoods over and over for hours on an influential station on the public airwaves seems to me to be an act of blatant propaganda. For him to be repeating them in a time of war, in heat of recent terrorist incidents, in the context of saying that all the people following one of the world’s major religions belong to a terrorist organization, is dangerous incitement. Suspension from the airwaves is the least that should happen to him. Don’t you think?

Actually bos, those are your words and not his. He never said “all muslims” The “examples” you site seem to be written right after the attacks of 9/11. Since then all of the of the fatwahs (that I know of) issued regarding the use of terror have been anything but unequivocal. They have loop holes that you can drive a tanker through and so open to interpretation that they are pretty much meaningless. When a general condemnation with no if’s and’s or but’s is issued, then I will think differently.

The TRUTH is men in this country charted an organization based on the Bible and its beliefs and then road around the south and mid-west in white sheets spreading terror among a certain community in this country. TRUTH is years before that an institution enslaved that same community and terrorized them with chains and whips to make them remain so (enslaved) even after the abolition of it as many of their minds are still enslaved. These are just two of more than a few instances of Christianity being manipulated into something terror related but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to start calling the entire religion a “Terrorist Organization” and neither “should” anyone else. I don’t know who the owner is actually and that’s not a concern right now, but they may not want to keep my post here as constituted but know that CAIR is not owned my Mr. Graham either and his First Amendment Rights are not being denied through his suspension/firing by CAIR. In fact the First Amendment speaks of “not infringining” on anyone elses rights as well. Well calling 1.4 Billion people terrorists out of poor information and an unwillingness to look at things with truthful and historical perspective could be construed as an infringement.

By the way, I don’t give a shi’ite if you think it’s “infringing” on someone’s anything for Graham (or me) calling THE RELIGION (not the individuals) inciting hate. What right that infringes upon, I don’t know, but even so, I don’t care. Maybe you should look around and you might find out why I say that, since you don’t know anything about this blog.
Your analogy to Christianity is basically crap, though. Christianity doesn’t encourage hate and violence; there are plenty of hateful and violent Christians in history and the present, but it’s not because of Christianity’s teachings. You missed the ENTIRE point of what Graham wrote–if you read it at all.
Finally, CAIR didn’t fire Graham, his employer did because of pressure from CAIR. That’s called dhimmitude. Your references to CAIR and Graham (along with the rest of your comment) basically make no sense at all.
