Nice to know that our government doesn’t PROFILE or anything when doing their hiring, isn’t it?

Yep, Bassam was, until just recently, a screener at Houston Intercontinental Airport. ‘Cause y’know, it would be racist! to deny him employment, wouldn’t it! Here’s the website promoting his “Arabic Assassin” crap.

Charming, isn’t he? This is the kind of chaff who decides who or what gets on the planes! How many more Bassams are out there, anyway? He isn’t the first. Isn’t it time for the Transportation Security Agency to do a little background checking? Is it now considered politically incorrect to do that, or what?!

Khalaf said he believes his Arab-American heritage had something to do with his job problems at the airport.

“I know part of it is racially motivated,” he said.

TSA officials, however, flatly deny that race played any part in his termination.

“We hire people of various ethnicities at all times,” McCauley said.

OK, fine. But apparently they also hire people of various anything, if you get my drift. Here’s their requirements for screeners:

Conditions of Employment:

To be considered for employment, you must be able to:

* demonstrate daily a fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol;
* work all of the following: irregular hours and/or shifts, including split-shifts; holidays and weekends; overtime; and extended hours;
* pass a Drug and Alcohol Screening; and
* pass a background investigation, including a criminal check and a credit check.

Yeah, right. More:

TSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to non-merit factors as race, color, religion, gender, handicap, age, sexual orientation, national origin, political affiliation, marital status, non-disqualifying disabilities, membership or non-membership in an employee organization, personal favoritism, protected genetic information, or status as a parent. TSA does have requirements to provide same-gender screening to travelers to protect their privacy.

Political affiliation, huh? Does that mean they couldn’t deny employment to someone whose political affiliation is with, say, Hamas? The Taliban? Ansar al-Islam? This is bullshi’ite.
