I’m an Enterpriser
Take this political test–it’s a good one, for a change. Finally, someone gets it right!
Here’s my result:
Enterpriser
Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Enterpriser typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues.
Enterprisers represent 9 percent of the American public, and 10 percent of registered voters.
Basic Description
As in previous studies conducted in 1987, 1994 and 1999, this extremely partisan Republican group’s politics are driven by a belief in the free enterprise system and social values that reflect a conservative agenda. Enterprisers are also the strongest backers of an assertive foreign policy, which includes nearly unanimous support for the war in Iraq and strong support for such anti-terrorism efforts as the Patriot Act.
Defining Values
Assertive on foreign policy and patriotic; anti-regulation and pro-business; very little support for government help to the poor; strong belief that individuals are responsible for their own well being. Conservative on social issues such as gay marriage, but not much more religious than the nation as a whole. Very satisfied with personal financial situation.
Who They Are
Predominantly white (91%), male (76%) and financially well-off (62% have household incomes of at least $50,000, compared with 40% nationwide). Nearly half (46%) have a college degree, and 77% are married. Nearly a quarter (23%) are themselves military veterans. Only 10% are under age 30.
Lifestyle Notes
59% report having a gun in their homes; 53% trade stocks and bonds in the stock market, and 30% are small business owners – all of which are the highest percentages among typology groups. 48% attend church weekly; 36% attend bible study or prayer group meetings.
2004 Election
Bush 92%, Kerry 1%. Bush’s most reliable supporters (just 4% of Enterprisers did not vote)
Party ID
81% Republican, 18% Independent/No Preference, 1% Democrat (98% Rep/LeanRep)
Media Use
Enterprisers follow news about government and politics more closely than any other group, and exhibit the most knowledge about world affairs. The Fox News Channel is their primary source of news (46% cite it as a main source) followed by newspapers (42%) radio (31%) and the internet (26%).
H/T: Commonwealth Conservative, who’s also an Enterpriser.

I’m an Enterpriser. No shock there.
Makrothumeo says:
Me too…how boring, none of us is a left-wing moonbat, I’m stunned…
Ogre says:
Ditto.
Dave Munger says:
Me too. Are we sure it dosen’t just call everyone that? I don’t trust the questions, about fourty about “immigrants”, none of them differentiate legal from illegal.
Scott says:
Beth: I found the test practically useless, because the questions were too maleable. Examples: Do I believe immigrants make this country stronger, or do they take our jobs and ruin our economy? Legal immigrants make our country stronger; illegal immigrants ruin our economy. But the question doesn’t make the distinction, and I suspect it assumes illegal immgrants when it scores the questionaire. Same with foreign policy: I support the use of overwhelming military firepower in some instances (i.e. Fallujah). But in some cases, I don’t think it’s necessary, because a better result could result from other means (i.e. Iran). In short, I didn’t even complete the quiz, because I could not accurately answer the questions. As always, love the site. Best, Scott
Beth says:
Scott — do I hear “nuance” in your comment? hehehehe
You’re right, of course, so I answered in general terms. Still, the description fits me exactly.
Dave, it probably gives everyone who reads this blog the same answer, since we Repukes are “all the same.”
Scott says:
Beth: You know, I thought we were friends. But if you’re comparing me to a certain Mass. liberal, I’m going to have to take back all the nice things I’ve said about you. I even plugged you recently on prosandcons, but I do have a delete button, and I’m not afraid to use it . . . .
I went ahead and finished the quiz anyway, and surprisingly, it pegged me pretty accurately. Still, the answer options were unsatisfactory at best. Must come from being a verbose lawyer.
See you in July?
Gun-Toting Liberal says:
Well, I guess I’m gonna be the first “whacko” amongst you:
Liberal
“Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Liberal typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues.”
I do have some issues with this test however; such as….
“They are the most opposed to an assertive foreign policy, the most secular, and take the most liberal views on social issues such as homosexuality, abortion, and censorship.”
Right on all counts, except, I DETEST abortions.
“They differ from other Democratic groups in that they are strongly pro-environment and pro-immigration…”
Yes, LEGAL immigration. And drilling ANWAR is a great idea because I’ve actually seen this place with my own eyes and drilling ain’t gonna hurt anybody.
“Strongest preference for diplomacy over use of military force.”
Yes, and FOR the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, and hoping we’ll go on to liberate Sudan, Lebanon, and Syria as well… and will not stop until ALL men and women are FREE and LIBERATED. Diplomacy FIRST, guns NEXT.
“Low participation in religious activities.”
True, but HIGHLY “spiritual”. There is a difference.
“Most sympathetic of any group to immigrants as well as labor unions, and most opposed to the anti-terrorism Patriot Act.”
True. OH how I detest the P/A!
” Least likely to report having a gun at home (23%)”
Another true statement. I do not have a gun at home. I have SEVERAL guns at home and I often pack and back CCW permits. I wish MORE liberals would embrace the 2nd Amendment.
“2004 Election
Bush 2%, Kerry 81%”
BZZT! I voted for President Bush. First Republican I can ever recall voting for on the national level. If you don’t tell me what you’re going to do and how you’re going to do it, you’ll never get my vote. Complaining doesn’t work with me. Plus, being a veteran, I really would like to see his 180. While I don’t necessarily subscribe to the Swifties’ contentions, what’s wrong with PROVING them wrong?
“Liberals are second only to Enterprisers in following news about government and public affairs most of the time (60%). Liberals’ use of the internet to get news is the highest among all groups (37%).”
Yup, the shoe fits!
Pretty good test, has it’s flaws. Thanks for sharing, Beth :-)

enterpriser here! Like no one knew that… I swear sometimes I feel like a clone in an freaking echo chamber…ACK!
Joust The Facts says:
Enterprisers Unite!
I took the test, via Michelle Malkin, another Enterpriser.
The Capitalist says:
Yep. Scored as an Enterpriser, except at the bottom was a footnote: We scored you an Enterpriser, only because “radical right wing wacko” wasn’t allowed by the server we use.
Oh, well, can’t have it all!
Thanks for reaffirming my Republican-ness
