I’m still sending money

…to the GOP.

I see from The Emperor’s post that Ed Morrissey has sounded the call for “Not One Dime” to the GOP, because Frist & Co. have been soft on forcing a vote on President Bush’s judicial nominees. Now everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon.

Not me. As I said in comments at the Rott

Frist is up for re-election in 2006. Don’t punish the entire GOP–and the country–by doing this, make HIM sweat. What’s more important, the misnamed “nuclear option,” or our national security? The “nuclear” option, or Social Security reform? Tax policy? Defense policy?

Let’s not eat our own like the Buchananites and the Perotistas who abandoned Bush ‘41 and ended up electing Klintoon. I’m sure most anyone can find something to criticize about the way things are done in one way or another, but isn’t it infinitely preferable to handing things over to the Left?

CQ says:

News flash: if we can’t reverse the generations-long trend of increasing judicial activism, the act of passing legislation will eventually be rendered meaningless.

Exactly. Do you think judicial activism will stop or even decrease one iota if there are Democrats in charge?
Come on, be practical about it. Who ARE you going to support?

Do the smart thing first, and do it OFTEN!

  • Write Senator Frist or call his office at 202-224-3344.
  • Write Senator Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Whip, or call at 202-224-2541.
  • More Senate Leadership here.
  • And write or call YOUR SENATORS, regardless of their party, and let them know you want the Bush nominees to be given an up or down vote, and not held up by political games on either side.

      Marchand Chronicles: The Nuclear Option

As Beth from MY Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy sagely noted, it’d be foolish for the GOP to purge itself and hand Democrats the victory.

So . . . what’s the plan, then? Let them filibuster.
