Stuff to read
Still pressed for blogging time, AND I’ve got to work on tomorrow’s Bonfire of the Vanities (the way things are going, I might have to turn it over to Beulah Mae). For right now, a few links for ya–
* The Sandmonkey has a few words for the “war fought for oil” moonbats; his perspective is that of an Egyptian who DOES appreciate the war in Iraq and the positive changes that have come about as a result. He also has a great series of posts on religious tolerance in Egypt that you should read!
* BlogsForTerri and Jack Lewis both are staying up-to-the-minute on the Mae Magouirk story.
* A Bama Blog has an update on the (in?)famous Flora-Bama bar, for those of you who know and love it.
* The Best of Me Symphony is up at The Owner’s Manual.
* Since this is BAG Day week, Aaron has a list of movies for gun lovers today.
* Finally, a reminder that tomorrow the Bonfire will be right here. Eric thinks he has no mediocre posts that are Bonfire-worthy to submit. I beg to differ.

The Flora Bama…I’m surprised Gilchrist didn’t pick up enough flotsam and jetsam after Ivan to have the place rebuilt by now.
The place is an International Landmark, for those not in the know. If you did not have the opportunity over the past 40 years to visit, you missed a unique establishment…king of the “Low Rent Bars” is a truth. But fun like you could have no where else. Beer by the gallon on Sunday…when South Alabama was dry and we were spending the weekend on the beach, literally.
I’ll miss it, but can’t wait to see the new one. Of course, I got to get there for the Mullet Toss.

I happen to think that post was one of Eric’s better ones, but maybe I’m just biased since he is my hubby?
Drew says:
Judge Roy Bean’s burned down and now this. At least I’ll still have my blurred and fuzzy memories of the old place.
Beth says:
I forgot all about Judge Roy Bean’s! I hadn’t been there in YEARS…
