My interview answers for Jody
I’m FINALLY answering the questions Jody asked me a week ago…yes, I know I’m a slacker. I also owe SC&A a guest post, but that’s for later.
1. When did you first hear the word blog? Or which was the first blog that you regularly read?
I really can’t remember when I first heard it, but I started this blog almost a year ago knowing very little to nothing about them. Basically I surf around the internet all the time and probably stumbled onto Blogger looking through Google stuff. I decided to try it out because I used to send out too many emails to people with links to articles and other stuff I found while surfing, so those who I used to email all the time could just go look there if they wanted to see stuff. I really had no clue about blogging until I started reading them a lot more, which didn’t happen right away. (See here for my crappy beginnings.)
I can’t remember what I started reading regularly first, either, except for Sworn Enemy (which I still read and you should too), which is where I learned everything about how to do a decent blog (as opposed to my earliest stuff crap). Probably the others were Rusty and Misha as well.
God, that was painful looking through my oldest archives. What a stinker.
2. If you had to change one event in history, what would you change?
Hitler/Goebbels/Mengele (and all others who brought about the Holocaust) would never have existed.
(And PLEASE, I don’t need corrections in the comments here–I simply mean anyone responsible for the Holocaust. I refuse to spend the evening dredging up the Complete History on the subject for my blog for the nit-pickers. If you don’t agree, write it on your own blog.)
3. The dinner party question: Name two people living or dead that you would invite. And why?
George W. Bush, because I think it would actually be interesting and fun.
Jesus, so He could set the record straight on current debate/religious doctrine–in other words, to shut up those people and churches who claim to be The Authority on “WWJD”. (Too predictable an answer.)
(I’d love to answer this in a non-serious way…hehehe)
4. Name a major influence in your life.
Without hesitation, my mother (predictable, again, but true and a GOOD influence) and my daughter (although everyone’s children are a major influence).
Also, as far as a non-person goes, my (victorious) battle with cancer.
5. What do you think your blog says about you? And what do you think it omits?
I think it says I am truly the greatest person on Earth. LOL
Honestly, I think it kind of reflects my smartass attitude and how I don’t take myself too seriously. Definitely says that I have no tolerance for stupidity.
What my blog intentionally omits is much of my personal thoughts and personal “real” life (not that there’s much to write about!) and definitely stuff about my daughter. I don’t feel it’s appropriate or wise to blog about one’s children with the all the sickos on the internet. In fact, I sometimes think I’ve probably exposed too much.
OK, I’ve already asked five questions in five interviews previously, so do I have to solicit five more interviewees?
If you want a real interview, not a Beulah Mae one, leave a comment here and I’ll do it. Just remember my slacking tendency.

Sigmund, Carl and Alfred says:
Well done, Beth. Very well done.
jody says:
I am shocked! :) It’s not too late in “real” life terms although in blogging terms it was an eternity…Is that just me? I expect instant results here when I can’t expect them elsewhere in my life. Thanks for finally answering my questions. ;)
Beth says:
I know, I suck. You are right, of course– one week on blog-time IS an eternity!
Sworn Enemy says:
Blogfriends Are Nice To Have
A little while ago,I was visiting My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy reading Beth’s answers to questions posed to her by another blogger Jody.
When asked about her early days of visiting blogs,Beth listed Sworn Enemy as one of the first she remembers re…

All things Beth (or why Jody is a bad blogger)
First I asked everyone to play the interview game. Beth graciously agreed and I ignored her responses and never linked to them!
