Common Ground
You know, Terri Schiavo has given us an unexpected gift–that of being able to find common ground with people we might never have otherwise found a reason to find each other.
Over the last several days, I’ve been introduced to several brave liberals who have gone to battle for Terri’s life, despite the heat from their own side. It started with a comment at BlogsForTerri where one person asked if there were any liberal blogs for Terri, because a lot of what’s being said for Terri is coming from a “religious right” perspective and the commenter feared it would be a turn-off to the cause for other liberals. Then I was reading Ace of Spades, and Megan spoke up in his comments.
Soon, the wheels were turning and I’ve found a few more. Lo and behold, today Hugh Hewitt linked to Megan (his “new favorite Canadian lesbian blogger”)!
Here are the liberals that I know of (obviously there are more, but I’ve not yet found them myself) who are courageously standing up and working hard for Terri–please send them some encouraging words and thanks for their strong support!

Beth, thank you for dropping by my blog. I have enjoyed reading yours and obviously, share your point of view on Terri and her right to live. I just wanted to say “hi” and thank you for your activism in this matter.

Thanks, Beth, for the link to my blog.
This really isn’t a left-right issue, and I hate to see so many people on “my side” of the spectrum take the wrong stand here.
The case on the part of Michael Schiavo’s claims has always struck me as stinking to high heaven.
