2004 Weblog Awards

I’m not letting on my votes in most of the categories, because I’ve agonized over some of them.

That being said, I want to let you know some of the voting I’ve done…and if you want to campaign for yourself or someone else, do it here in the comments!

Best New Blog: ME! But still, I do have a personal favorite in there, and it kills me to not be voting for that blog.

Best Liberal Blog: I just voted for Mayflower Hill. I made a painful journey through the list, and I’ve found this guy to be quite fair and informed.

Best Conservative Blog: The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler. I love all the blogs there, of course, so I wish I could vote for all of them, but my home away from home IS at the Rott.

Best of the Top 100: The Politburo Diktat. Of course! (Sorry I spaced out putting this here originally, dear Commissar. “Preview is my friend.”)

Best 250-500: Speed of Thought Fantastic design, has some very cool things you don’t see elsewhere, and even better, a really nice guy. He’ll be moving up from this category in no time.

Best 500-1000: The Flying Space Monkey! If you don’t vote for him, you suck.

Best of 1000-1750: The Cranky Neocon! This category is going to be tough for many of you–LOTS of talent here, and probably the best category of all because it’s actually a close contest, and there’s some real creative genius here. When some of them are in the top 100, I hope they remember me.

Best 3500-5000: Pajama Pundits. It’s close…go vote!!!

Best 5000-6750: No Oil for Pacifists. Another close contest, but not for me.

Best 6750+: Artitumis. One of the nicest bloggers around, a right-thinking Marine who’s also quite the artist!

Best Election Coverage: Blogs for Bush…of course! I can’t imagine why anyone who is a blogger for Bush would vote otherwise!

Best Media Blog: Donald Luskin. Why, you ask? For one thing, Malkin, Best of the Web, and others have enough votes. Besides, Luskin has me on his blogroll. ;-) And he’s one of my favorites, anyway.

Best Tech Blog: The Laporte Report. You know, Leo Laporte from TechTV. Simply better than the rest of them, an enjoyable read.

Best LGBT Blog: Boi from Troi, the only one in this category I really read, plus he’s conservative. The few others I’ve read are also funny, but Bush-haters. Blah.

Best Design: ME! Oh yeah, I’m not there. Just A Girl, hands down. She’s awesome, AND did the design for my blog!

Best Asian Blog: The Argus!!!!

Best Latino, etc. Blog: Right Wing Spic. Go vote for him!!! (If you can’t vote for a conservative (why would you be reading this if you aren’t, though?), then vote for Latino Pundit.

Best Canadian: Being American in T.O. It’s the only one on the list I’ve ever read. I’m open to suggestions if you have a favorite, because my regular-read Canadian bloggers aren’t on there. Besides, I’m a “F—ing American“.

Best UK: Tim Worstall. Easy pick!

*blush* You and Scott are way to nice to me. I need to go and post my votes. They pretty much mirror yours which is quite interesting.

Thanks for the endorsement! I’ve already voted for you several times. And am adding you as a link.

It’s unfair you’re lumped into a category with a media blog.

Still, thanks for your vote, and best of luck!

I thank you for the endorsement and I shall, as I have already, vote for you again.
I’ve only been in Mobile once so far, staying in the National Park along the coast in a tent, many years ago. What I really remember is some racoon deciding to urinate upon our dinner.
Having read the blog, seen the photo (umm, why are other people’s children so gorgeous?)I have a feeling that my next visit might be better. It’s OK, I’ll cook the vegetables.

Thank You for the endorsement, alas it’s not even close anymore. Many of my online friends are from two AOL groups and more than a few have been blocked from voting today. Go ahead, make fun of me!
