Now, for something completely different…

I’ve finally finished my loooooong day in Real Lifeā„¢. Back to the blog!

Ok, so I’ve been a little less-than prolific in the last few days. I’ve been severely sleep deprived (and still am) so I haven’t been doing much but surfing like a stoner in Malibu. Besides, I just haven’t felt compelled to post anything because it’s all being covered elsewhere…and apparently I’m not the only one who’s felt this sentiment lately. Sure, there ARE a lot of things to write about, but like I said, I’m tired.

Most of my writing has been in emails and comments to other bloggers whom I’ve just discovered or whom I read constantly. So…nothing left for my own space!

Anyway, all this surfing has pretty much created my sleep-deprivation. First I surfed my entire blogroll to clean it up, and then I got on a damned Blog Explosion ride, then surfed through the original nominations for the 2004 Weblog Awards! Can I just say, I’m ashamed. I looked through–in particular–quite a few from the nether-regions of the ecosystem, and some of these people really deserve more traffic. I hope you’ll also go through some of the lesser-known blogs to see the as-yet undiscovered talent I’m talking about.

Speaking of which, The 2004 Weblog Awards is live now! I did make the cut for Best New Blog, but I’m up against some seriously bigger blogs in that category, so be kind. You know what I mean…a couple of those are in my daily reads and I’d vote for them myself, but I would like to not get bruised and bloodied by them too badly… :-/
(Fatwa to the Infidel who put me in the New Blogs category where I’ll get the shi’ite beat out of me, as opposed to the Top 250-500!!!!)

Finally, I’m issuing a FATWA! to certain bloggers who have consumed too much of my time by having such excellent reading that my sleep time has suffered.

To start, from last night:

Speed of Thought (nominated in the Top 250-500 blogs category, by the way, and a genius with a Mac).

Artitumis (in the Top 6750+ category–some unbelievable, completely computer-generated art, from a Marine, no less!)

From the previous night, of note: The Flying Space Monkey Chronicles (in Top 500-1000).

Dude, you owe me a bottle of Windex or something to clean the Diet Coke spew from my monitor. Since you DO live close by in Alabama, this CAN be done.

And no, I didn’t just discover these guys, except for Marcus at Artitumis.

(From too many nights to count, the Rott, of course!)

Anyway, I spent all day jumping through hoops of bureaucratic red tape at the doctor’s office/hospital (no, I’m not sick–just monitoring my ridiculously long medical history)–so I got at least an hour or two of waiting room naps. Still not caught up though, so the FATWA still stands.

(Note to those who have asked–my PET scan came up clean–no recurrence. Four years and counting! And thanks for asking!) :-)

Now go give me some love!
(To my regular readers/blog friends–you know who you are–if you’re on the poll, you got my vote!)

And for the love of God, go vote for Just a Girl for Best Design! SHE is the creative genius behind my “look” and so many others with the best design!

Let me just clarify one thing from the last post: I’m not going to vote for myself, and you shouldn’t either. I know I nominated me, but now that I see the competition I’m outclassed. Vote for Bill at INDC,…
