It’s all part of the vast right wing conspiracy…

U.S. News & World Report’s Washington Whispers is whispering that some think Hillary won’t run for the presidency in 2008…

Will she or won’t she?

Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Is there any other name that creates the political buzz that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s does? Maybe not, but some friends and allies advise against placing bets that the former first lady will be the nation’s 44th president. They report that the New York Democrat isn’t so sure about a run for the White House. “She’s not running,” says one supporter. The thinking in the “don’t run” campaign is that Clinton is well aware of the partisan feelings she generates. “People love her or they hate her,” says an adviser. “There’s very little gray area to gain voters in.”

I don’t buy it. I think she’s far more ambitious power-mad than pragmatic. This is probably a bunch of spin to keep the vast right wing conspiracy at bay for a bit longer–note that the rumbling comes from her friends, supporters, and advisers!

I do think Hitlery’s “friends and allies” are right in one thing though, when they advise against placing bets on her being elected. Call me crazy, but I just don’t believe she can.

no…she won’t. She couldn’t stand the loss. Besides, the swing to the left as led by Pelosi and Puff is now officially dead in the water. Funeral right after the mid-terms in ‘06.

    Hmmmmm… this is a puzzler.

A question comes: does she or does she not support the war in Iraq? She has publicly professed support. Is it more likely that the author of “It Takes A Village” honestly believes deposing Saddam and planting Democracy seed in Iraq is the right course of action or that professing same in public is the right move to make on the chance that she will run for President?

I suspect the latter is more likely. Thus, the question of running or not is not yet resolved and so the reports that she is not running is just a well orchestrated diversion.

P.S. Arrived here via your note to KBJ. Keep going, you write interesting stuff.

I agree with Len. The arrogance of the left knows no bounds. sHillary possesses enough self-confidence that she may very well contract PEST syndrome when she loses to Condoleeza. Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!

All I want to know is…is it YOUR vast right wing conspiracy, or someone elses that’ll stop her?

I don’t know if she’ll run. There will be many study groups and much money spent by her to determine whether she will run or not. If she is convinced she will win, she will run. If there’s any doubt, she won’t take the chance. Yes, she wants the power, but she wouldn’t be able to handle the rejection of a potential loss.

I feel she will run. She’s too much of a megalomaniac to let this one slip by. One can only hope that Americans remember the last time she ran the White House (1992-1994), and vote accordingly. Truthfully, the Democrats would be stupid to nominate her, since she would be the most polarizing presidential candidate ever.

    Old Hillary Joke:

Q: Why doesn’t Hillary wear short skirts?

A; She doesn’t want people to see her balls.
